Before After Our specialtyPanels and service upgrades are the work we know best
Nearly half of Prescott's homes went up between 1970 and 1999, and that is where Federal Pacific Stab-Lok and Zinsco panels live. Many Arizona carriers now decline or non-renew a policy once an inspection names one. Every home sale in that vintage produces an inspection report, and every report with an FPE or Zinsco note produces a phone call to us.
We have replaced panels since 2016, and it is still where most of our calls start. It sits inside a full electrical practice, though: the same truck handles the hot tub circuit, the ceiling fan, and the outlet that went dead.
- Written quote from two photos. Text us the panel with the door open and the meter. Permit included in the price.
- Permit and inspection on every job that needs one. City of Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, or Yavapai County.
- Insurance letter and a filled-out directory before we drive away.

Questions we get on the phoneStraight answers
Is my Federal Pacific or Zinsco panel insurable in Arizona?
Often not. Many Arizona carriers decline a new policy, or will not renew, once an inspection names a Federal Pacific Stab-Lok or Zinsco panel. Replacing it with a modern load center, permitted and inspected, is what they ask for. We provide the photos and the letter they want.
Do you take smaller jobs, like a ceiling fan or a few outlets?
Yes. Panels and service upgrades fill most of the schedule, but lighting, fans, outlets, GFCI and AFCI protection, hot tub circuits, and troubleshooting are regular work for us. Text a photo of what you need and we quote it the same way.
Do I need a permit for electrical work in Prescott?
For most of it, yes. Panels, service upgrades, new circuits, EV chargers, and hot tubs all need one in every Quad Cities jurisdiction; swapping a fixture or an outlet usually does not. We pull the permit when the job needs it and meet the inspector. The City of Prescott issues same-day permits for panel replacements up to 200 amps.
Can I add an EV charger to a 100 amp panel?
Sometimes. We run a load calculation first. A 40 amp charger with load management often fits on a 100 amp service. A 48 or 60 amp charger on a house with electric heat or a hot tub usually means a 200 amp upgrade, and we will say so up front.
How does a generator connect to the house safely?
Through a transfer switch or a listed interlock kit, never a cord into a dryer outlet. That is a backfeed, and it can energize the APS lines a crew may be working on. We install manual switches, interlock kits, generator inlets, and automatic transfer switches, permitted and inspected.
Photo estimateSend a photo. Get a written number.
A photo of the panel, the outlet, or the spot where the charger goes is usually enough, and the meter outside helps. We reply with a written quote within one business day. No pressure, no invented urgency.
